Kick-back, slide-up, or whatever it takes to survive impact at speed with unmarked crab traps, rocks, coral heads, and the like.
NOT a replacement for the stock dag, rather an add-on option for those who need it.
Without such an option, it would seem that Weta has designed itself out of a significant user base where impact at speed with aforementioned objects is not a matter of “If”, but simply “How Often” and “At What Speed”.
The many bays behind the barrier islands of East Coast USA are a case in point: significant tides, murky water, sudden sand bars, unmarked crab traps…..
Such an option would not have to be high-performance… just something to let the feelgood sailor bash around on those back bays, ride over the occasional submerged object, and still get home without too much equipment damage or bodily injury.
